Low Carbon Homes
In November 2018, Manchester City Council adopted new science-based climate change targets on behalf of the city to become zero carbon by 2038. The Playing Our Full Part document confirmed that – for domestic property – this would involve reducing energy demand and shifting to lower carbon heat sources, lifting families out of fuel poverty and saving residents money on their energy bills, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Low Carbon Homes is working with the Council and wider stakeholders to ensure that speakers and delegates at this event are helping to develop the final Zero Carbon Framework and the emerging Zero Carbon Housing Strategy, through positive engagement with regional policy makers, practitioners and key influencers of domestic property owners.
Heat Pump Focus
Heat Pump Focus runs ALL DAY within the Low Carbon Homes event and is a FREE TO ATTEND. With its own dedicated space, it will feature exhibits, talks and presentations, providing all-day access for invited visitors and Low Carbon Homes delegates who are interested in learning more about heat pumps and the electrification of heating.
Heat Pump Focus allows visitors to talk directly with manufacturers, designers, associated service providers and trade associations in a dedicated space.
Heat Pump Focus, supported by the Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) and Heat Pump Association (HPA), provides an opportunity for the heat pump industry to demonstrate how it can help Manchester and the wider region meet its low carbon ambitions.
